Look to the stars…
Bruce Highland has his ups and downs. If someone were to ask him what his favorite constellation is, he would probably be inclined to answer Orion - never mind that it is a rather random question. Why is that? Orion is a warrior spirit. The hunter. Master hunter. Meisterjäger. Not to be confused with Jagermeister, a popular aperitif often consumed in excess which literally translates to hunter master. Bruce’s author has his ups and downs too. Let’s face it, if life didn’t blow, Bruce would be boring.
To me, Orion represents a future, a hope, new beginnings. Just when things look very down, on a clear night one can look up and see that distinctive belt, and it gives a sense of peace.
Oh the rock. Long story. It’s special to me. It comes in handy when I can’t see the night sky. It might just end up in a novel.
On another note, an update on novel progress. I’ve been stalled out for a while. Some of my best works have been clean sheet rewrites. I went through no less than three iterations of Area 91 before I was happy with the result. I might just do that with the current project, which is roughly at the eighty percent level.
How do you deal with stress?
